Global Psychology Alliance felhívása személyes történetek bemutatására fogyatékossággal kapcsolatos témakörben

Global Psychology Alliance felhívása

Global Psychology Alliance (Globális Pszichológiai Szövetség) digitális történetmesélésre hívja a kollégákat. Kezdeményezésével a személyes történetek erején keresztül szeretné felhívni a figyelmet a fogyatékossággal kapcsolatos problémákra.

We invite you to join a global digital storytelling initiative to help raise awareness about disability through the power of personal stories.
Whether you are a caregiver for a person with a disability or have your own lived experience of disability, your story is valuable. Your experiences, insights, and journey can inspire others, foster understanding, and help build a more inclusive world.
GPA warmly welcomes you to participate by sharing your story through a short video. We are collecting video stories from around the globe to showcase the diversity, resilience, and strength of our global community.
The collection of stories will be featured as a special digital presentation in recognition of Disability Awareness Day 2026.
Your voice matters. Your story can inspire others and contribute to a more inclusive world.
Please refer to the attached handout for further details and participation guidelines.
We look forward to receiving your story on or before September 15th, 2026.

How to Record Quality Video on Your Mobile Phone
Do you need to record yourself or others in the field? This document will help you create and share a quality video easily using your mobile phone.
Mobile phones have become powerful recording tools that can produce professional-looking results when used correctly. Whether you’re recording on an iPhone or Android device, these tips will help you get the best results.

➢ Getting Started
Before you begin recording, close all apps not related to your recording. Background apps may interrupt your recording with notifications, calls, or alerts.
Enable Do Not Disturb or Airplane Mode to prevent calls, texts, and notifications from interrupting your recording. You can still record video in Airplane Mode.
Always do a short test recording to ensure that everything is working correctly. After viewing the result, make any adjustments to your position, lighting, or audio setup as needed.
Please remember to attribute all images and videos appropriately.

➢ Setting Up Your Phone for Recording
Orientation: Horizontal vs. Vertical (high-resolution preferred)
Record in landscape (horizontal) orientation for most professional videos, presentations, and content that will be viewed on computers or TVs.
Record in vertical (portrait) orientation when:
• Creating content specifically for social media platforms (Instagram Stories, TikTok, Reels)
• Recording content meant to be viewed primarily on mobile devices
• You’ve been specifically asked to record vertically
For the current project we prefer landscape(horizontal) orientation.
Phone Position and Stability
Use a tripod or stabilizer whenever possible. Phone tripods are inexpensive and portable. If you don’t have a tripod, brace your phone against a stable object or hold it with both hands, keeping your elbows close to your body.
Position your phone at eye level with your subject. Looking up or down at subjects is typically unflattering.
Clean your camera lens before recording. A smudged lens will make your entire video look blurry.

Camera Settings
Lock your focus and exposure. On most phones, tap and hold on your subject on the screen to lock focus and exposure. This prevents the camera from constantly adjusting during your recording.
• iPhone: Tap and hold on your subject until you see „AE/AF Lock” appear at the top of the screen
• Android: Tap on your subject, then look for a lock icon or „AF/AE Lock” option (varies by manufacturer; some phones require enabling this in camera settings)
Use the rear camera when possible. The back camera typically has better quality than the front-facing camera.
Avoid using digital zoom. Move physically closer to your subject rather than zooming in digitally, which reduces video quality.

Audio Quality
Get close to your subject. Phone microphones work best when you’re within a few feet of the speaker.
Be mindful of environmental noise. Wind, traffic, crowds, and other background sounds will be picked up. Position yourself to minimize these when possible.
Use your hand to shield the microphone from wind if needed, or consider using an inexpensive external lavalier microphone for windy conditions.
Ask subjects to speak clearly and at a moderate pace.

Lighting
Face your light source. Position your subject facing natural light or available light sources. Never have a bright window, the sun, or strong light behind your subject, as this will darken their face.
Use natural light when possible. Outdoor daylight or window light provides the most flattering results.
Avoid harsh overhead lighting which creates unflattering shadows.

➢ Recording in the Field
Before You Hit Record
Check your background. Make sure there are no distracting elements and that you are comfortable with the environment being recorded and shared.
Check your available storage and battery before recording. A full phone or dead battery will stop recording unexpectedly.
Have your questions or talking points ready if conducting an interview.

While Recording
Keep the camera steady. Hold your phone with both hands or use a stabilizer. Avoid walking while recording unless necessary.
Keep eye contact with the camera when recording yourself, or focus on your subject when recording others.
Don’t panic if you make a mistake. Just pause and continue. People are drawn to authentic interactions, not perfection.
Record a few extra seconds at the beginning and end of each clip. This gives you flexibility when editing.

➢ Sharing Your Video
Save your video immediately after recording and consider backing it up to cloud storage in case something happens to your phone.
Cloud storage services like Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive allow you to upload your video and share a link.
Compress your video if file size is an issue, though be aware this may reduce quality.
Once your video is ready, please use the below link to drop your video and signed consent form using your Surname as file name format (ex: REYES.mp4 / REYES.pdf):

➢ Quick Troubleshooting
Video looks shaky: Use a tripod, brace against a stable surface, or hold with both hands close to your body.
Audio sounds muffled or has wind noise: Get closer to your subject, shield the microphone, or use an external mic.
Subject appears dark or shadowy: Reposition to face available light sources.
Phone overheats: Remove your phone case, keep it out of direct sunlight, and close background apps.

Remember: Good audio, steady footage, and proper lighting are the most important elements. Master these basics and your mobile phone videos will look professional.
